In the quiet, green heart of Malenadu lies a small, sacred village called Hiresara. For more than a hundred years, this village has nurtured a family known for their spiritual values, simplicity, and service - the family of Dr. Sumedha Katte
From a young age, Sumedha grew up amidst the gentle rhythm of temple bells, chanting, and the fragrance of herbs that his elders believed could heal not just the body, but the soul. The forest paths, the cool breeze through the areca plantations, and the stillness of nature all shaped his spirit.
Even as a boy, he had only one dream - to heal, to serve, and to preserve the timeless science of Ayurveda.
Driven by curiosity and compassion, he completed his BAMS and MD (Ayurveda) and stepped into the bustling world of healthcare in Bangalore.
There, he served for three years in a corporate hospital, where every day taught him the contrast between Ayurveda’s quiet depth and the restless speed of modern life. He met hundreds of professionals battling stress, burnout, and lifestyle diseases - people with money, but without peace.
And somewhere in those long corridors of polished glass and hospital lights, Dr. Sumedha realized something profound: "True healing cannot be found in machines - it is a state of awareness."
With that clarity, he made a life-changing decision - to leave the comfort of city life and return to his roots in Thirthahalli. Many called it a "step back." But for him, it was a step inward.
In the tranquil village atmosphere, surrounded by forests and faith, Prashanthi Chikitsalaya was born - an Ayurvedic clinic built on one primary tenet: "Sincerity heals deeper than success."
Slowly, word spread through healed hearts. Prashanthi Chikitsalaya became a symbol of discipline, compassion, and true Ayurvedic principles. To serve his city patients, Dr. Sumedha established a bridge between worlds, continuing monthly consultations in Bangalore.
After years of serving both worlds, Dr. Sumedha envisioned a place where authentic Ayurveda, yoga, and nature would come together as a sanctuary of holistic recovery.
Behind his clinic lay 10 acres of ancestral land - half lush areca plantations, half untouched forest. Instead of clearing it, he chose to preserve the forest and create natural walking paths that breathe serenity and reverence.
Thus was born the dream of Anantha Ayurveda Retreat Hospital, opening on January 1, 2027, in the divine soil of Hiresara village. Here, the discipline of an ashram meets the comfort of world-class Ayurvedic care.
